I have some very good news.

No, really, I do.

Breakfast

I like to pour milk in one side of the bowl and watch it flow beneath the cereal and rise, soaking it like a white, vitamin D-rich tsunami.

Two-Legged Rat Bastards

Go here to keep up with the life on this amazing film.

From a story by me in Glimmer Train, called "The Mailman"

I love you.

It was nice to read that, nice to have it in black and white on a piece of paper she could look at again and again.  It was only later, after a couple of weeks, she noticed the words written there growing fainter and fainter, and finally disappearing, as though they had been written with smoke.

I love you.

Then the paper itself would crumble – ashes.

Nothing lasts.

I don't know where they got this picture.

The Movie

Now that you've read the story, you're ready for the movie.  Exciting, isn't it?  Well, here it is.  Go to the site, click on Two-Legged Rat Bastards, and enter the password, which is Bastards.  Let me know what you think!  Scott Weintrob did an amazing job putting this short together; he should win an Oscar.

The Story

"Two-legged Rat Bastards" is finally done.  It's a 14 minute long short film based on my story, "A Full Boat." I wrote the script with Rob Anderson, my brother-in-law, and it was directed by Scott Weintrob. He and his team did an amazing job, and I hope to post a link to it here soon. Meanwhile, here is the story it was based on, published a long time ago in The Greensboro Review.

Sing, sing a song.

Big Fish is going to be a musical.  Book by John August, songs by Andrew Lippa, directed by Susan Stroman.  I've heard it, and I think it's going to be wonderful.
